What to Expect At Your First Neuropathy Visit
Targeted evaluation: We review your history, medications, lab work, and previous treatments so we understand the full picture. Because you will already have records and tests we will not repeat these tests. We assume that you are arriving with an accurate diagnosis. This is not a second opinion about the nature of your problem but rather a strategy session to give you relief.Targeted testing: We check circulation and nerve function using simple physical evaluation. We will not attempt the comprehensive testing you would typically have at a major medical center.Clear plan: If the initial evaluation shows no obstacles to treatment and we think your chance of benefit is good, we will offer what is called "the mapping session". This initial treatment will give both us and you the patient insight into whether this will be a good choice for you to pursue. If you decide you wish to proceed we will schedule the followup treatments using our various modalities, especially the StemWave Shockwave treatments.
How Our Neuropathy Treatment Works

How Our Program Is Unique
Most "Shockwave" is a weak version of the technology. Ours is ESWT, the deepest signal causing stem cell migration
Almost no facility addresses the biomechanics that make nerve damage a worsening problem through simple walking in most people. We do. It is core to our program.
Rather than focussed laser therapy we use a very broad near infrared therapy treatment that treats the entire region of the affected nerves.
We pioneered low glycemic eating in the early 1980's. Our approach to low inflammatory eating is unique.
Our vibration plate is ideal for people with neuropathy and poor balance.
Serving DuBois and Western Pennsylvania
This unique neuropathy program is designed for people who are not seeking invasive treatments or medication to control their symptoms. They may be on medication but can still be treated in our clinic. We will not prescribe additional medicine based treatment but will likely suggest multiple supplements that will likely help the symptoms. We see patients from State College west and from Erie south. There are many clinics in the Pittsburgh area but to date, none replicate the modalities we offer.
We have one major qualifier that we strongly encourage: our program is not ideal or optimal for the pessimistic person. If you are a "the glass is half empty" type of person, you will tend to focus on the symptoms that remain rather than the symptoms that have improved.
The perception of pain tends to fill the mind of the pessemist while the optomist is focused on the improved function that results from the decreased nerve symptoms. Because almost nobody with a peripheral neuropathy will have complete resolution of symptoms, the pessimist will remain distracted by the remaining symptoms even if their function has markedly improved. The pain they fill will dominate the mind. While we will still evaluate somebody who might be by self description "a pessimist", we want you to understand some of the issues in people who are in chronic pain.
